I HIGHLY recommend this property for any solo, couples, or small families traveling to Destin! I've spent majority of my life vacationing in Destin, and Sea Oats is my new go to rather than the typical resort or hotel. First of all, the property itself is right on the water. If you're staying on the first floor, your patio literally walks out onto the sand. The second floor has its own enclosed balcony and with a mere 10-20 steps you're on the sand. There is a pool and 24/7 laundry facility (very inexpensive, $2.50 total per load – and they do provide laundry detergent for sale for your convenience so you don't have to run to the store) on property. It's a beautiful location, still central to many restaurants, premium designer outlets, and other retailers like Walmart, T-Mobile, grocery stores – even an all in one eye doctor in case you have a glasses or eye contacts emergency while on vacation. The property itself is very quaint and calm, despite the full parking lots of guests. The guests are mindful and respectful after dark when it comes to noise control. The fact that I originally booked 6 nights and then extended my reservation due to the peacefulness of the area should tell you how ideal this motel is. The rooms are maintained and surprisingly spacious. I had a "basic" studio-like room with both a king and queen size bed (again perfect for families), a fridge, microwave, coffee maker – as well as a dining table in an area separate to sleeping. Basic amenities as expected as well as drinking glasses, dish towels, sponge and mini dish liquid soap which I thought was a cute touch/another way they try to anticipate guest needs. (Just one less thing you'd have to purchase from the store during vacation.) Shower remained hot, AC cold, and given that I stayed during a particularly stormy week where the temp dropped to the 30s-40s, the heater worked perfectly when needed. Plenty of storage space with the dresser and closet. Again, the balcony was utilized every moment while in the room – so relaxing and an incredibly beautiful view. The fact that you're staying literally on the beach at such a budget friendly rate is practically a steal. I know it's easy for out of town visitors to look this property over when researching a place to stay but please don't! Don't let the fact that Sea Oats rates doesn't mirror competitor pricing (which is 3x-7x more per night depending on the resort) sway you into thinking this is lesser location. The staff is super accommodating and providing THE BEST customer service/hospitality. Miss Joanne, Miss Denise, and one other that I didn't catch their name – were all professional and just overall pleasant to interact with. Thank you again, Staff of Sea Oats! -Mary Photos attached are views from balcony taken morning and sunset.

We are on trip 11. We love Sea Oats. We see the same friendly faces in office every trip. My wife has traveled alone at times and they are great with helping her. Our son is Autistic. They are always so kind to him. We love the location and full kitchens. You definitely get your money's worth. It may not be for all but its absolutely perfect for us oklahoma folks.

It is on the beach front. The M and D units have best access. They are being torn down October 1 2022 to make room for a public beach park.

A:

Yes, the Motel is beachfront. I've been going there for years. I know nothing about any public beach park. Please contact Sea Oats Motel & Management to ask about that. Otherwise, love Sea Oats Motel. Easy, relaxed, laid back kind of place.
